Florian Sayer

Florian Sayer is a seasoned expert in renewable energy and energy transition, with over 15 years of experience specifically in wind turbine blades. He currently serves as the Head of the Business Unit Energy at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM. His previous role involved leading the areas of fiber composite materials, sub-component testing, and rotor blades manufacturing at Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems IWES.
Florian has spearheaded numerous projects related to composite materials, wind turbine blade reliability, and the validation of structural composite components. He holds a Diploma Degree in Production Engineering from the University of Bremen and received his PhD from the Leibniz University Hannover, with a focus on the structural reliability of wind turbine blade bond lines.
Florian is an active member of various renewable energy networks. His significant contributions to the industry are documented in his numerous publications and patents.
